Yesterday, at a campaign rally in West Virginia, Bill Clinton told the public in no uncertain terms how he felt about negative campaigning:
“If a politician doesn’t wanna get beat up, he shouldn’t run for office. If a football player doesn’t want to get tackled or want the risk of an a occasional clip he shouldn’t put the pads on.”
And in a way, I agree with him. I mean during a campaign, yes, a candidate should be ready to answer for his past decisions, past votes, and past positions. And yes, those questions may be asked in a pointed way. But there is also a line that should not be crossed, especially when you are running against someone in your own party, and the Clintons are crossing it with impunity. The divisive, Race-Baiting tactics that Hillary’s campaign is using to shake up this nomination contest are not just dangerous but despicable as well. What good does it do to put out pictures of Barack in a Somali headdress to imply that he is a muslim radical? What good does it do to harp repeatedly about an “unpatriotic” old sermon that was given by Obama’s old pastor? I’ll tell you what good it does. It puts doubt in the heads of White people who are not sure that they are ready to trust a young Black man. Its sad that Hillary cannot run on the issues, but instead has to stoop to the level of undercover name calling and sabotage. I guess that’s what Bill calls an “occasional clip.” Unfortunately, clipping in football is illegal, Bill, but it looks like that doesn’t matter when you will do just about anything to win. What do you think about President Clinton’s comments? Speak out!

I stumbled on your site yesterday and I really like it. Thanks for the hard work you obviously put into the blog and the thought provoking topics. As to this entry…The Clintons have no problem throwing the punches, but cry foul every time anyone dares to stand up to them.
Thank you for the wonderful comments!! Please tell you friends about us! Peace…
So he now likes the politics of personal destruction?
OK, Mr. President, how many interns will you have under you in a Hillary White House?
Yes, I guess that all is fair in love and war unless you say Lewinsky…ask Gordon Fischer…
