According to this story in the Kansas City Star, national pharmacy chain Walgreen’s has agreed to pay a settlement amount of $24 million dollars to 10,000 African-American employees in a Race Discrimination case. The suit, which was filed in March 2007, alleged that African-American employees were unfairly denied opportunities for promotion, and were routinely assigned to stores that were performing poorly. Good for them, because we all know that this happens everyday, and rarely comes to light.
