Once again the Obama detractors in both parties are attempting to paint Michelle Obama as some sort of un-patriotic communist. In this clip from a speech that she gave back in January, Michelle talks about the propensity of people in this country to stay with their own kind (race) all the time, referring to it as a comfort zone. She finishes the statement with the words “That’s America,” which meant to me that the condition that she was referring to was prevalent in this country. She goes on to ask “Are we ready for Change?” which I took to mean that the different races need to come together. However, many are painting the “That’s America” comment to mean that America is a bad place to live. Listen for yourself. What do you think? Speak out!

  1. I have yet to understand how it is, that when someone points out an obvious, yet uncomfortable truth there will always be someone who will shout ‘fiend’ (or in this case Un-American). Michelle Obama doesn’t seem afraid of truth, both the pleasent and the shameful variety. I deeply respect that. We become stronger as a people and as individuals when we face harsh truths and seek positive change, instead of embracing the status quo.
