Hillary in South Carolina

In spite of her overwheming rejection by black voters in S.C., Hillary Clinton continued to court the african-american community today with an appearance on comedian Steve Harvey’s syndicated radio show “The Steve Harvey Morning Show”. During her apperance, Sen. Clinton pushed her new Initiative for bringing additional aid to HBCU’s as well as other colleges and universities that serve large numbers of black students.

Under her plan, which was first announced during a Jan 25th rally at Benedict College, an HBCU in South Carolina, she pledges to increase government funding to these schools by $50 million to $438 million annually. Along with those funds, she is also pledging to provide another $100 million dollars to minority serving institutions for upgrades to technology, all during her first term as president if she happens to win.

Is this supposed to make us forget about the wise crack that her husband made about Jesse Jackson? Will this be enough to erase her unfortunate remark dismissing the work of Martin Luther King from the minds of Black voters? Well, I guess that is the $150 million dollar question…Comment and let us know what you think!
